Scott has three decades of leadership experience in the agtech, agrifood tech, and natural resources arena, where he has focused on developing and delivering practical solutions to help growers of all types change the way the world grows. As CEO of Growcentia, Scott establishes the company’s vision, sets its strategic direction, and builds operational and administrative capabilities to drive profitable growth.

He began his career in the water resources sector, serving federal, state, and local governmental agencies, including the US EPA, NOAA, US Bureau of Reclamation, California State Water Resources Control Board, and Alameda County. Later, Scott conceived and managed new ventures for a VC-backed, Inc. 40 Silicon Valley company formed to commercialize natural hazard modeling technology developed at Stanford University. He then served as a vice president of corporate development at the First American Financial Corporation and as a managing director of KPMG’s Global Financial Strategies practice, where he completed mergers and acquisitions totaling more than $40 billion in the Americas, Europe, and Asia. During his time with the Big 4 firm, Scott’s work attracted awards from John Sculley, former Apple and PepsiCo CEO, and the Conference Board.

More recently, Scott has led large-scale, multi-state growing operations across all crop types, and he served on Sunkist’s and Fruit Growers Supply Company’s board of directors. He currently sits on Growcentia’s board of directors, chairs the industry advisory board of Colorado State University’s Department of Soil and Crop Sciences, and is a lifetime member of the Center of Executive Coaching, where he was also designated a certified master facilitator.

Scott is a natural innovator, builder, and curious, strategic risk-taker with a strong work ethic. From the farm to the boardroom, his strengths include bridging the gap between strategy and execution, leading science, sustainability, and academically driven organizations, and synthesizing nature and science to benefit the agricultural world. Scott is a two-time recipient of the Titan 100 award, recognizing Colorado’s top CEOs.
