On This episode of Grass Roots Marketing were joined by Colin Bell the co-founder and chief growth officer of Growcentia. As a research scientist at Colorado State University, Colin conducted research that was focused on soil microbial ecology and improving agriculture sustainability. At some point in 2013, he started reflecting on his teams impact in achieving this goal, and came to the realization that his basic research was not being applied to enhance agriculture management practices – so Colin decided to make a change. They started thinking about how to apply their research in ways that would bring value to farmers by developing microbial solutions to naturally improve plant growth. Colins team developed the first technology at Colorado State University – and he left the university in March 2015 to start Growcentia as Co-founder and Chief Growth Officer for Growcentia. In this role, Colin regularly engages with growers to continue to understand ways to create value for cannabis farmers.
